Manchester… Freshers’ Week

The week actually felt like I was living in a time warp – a second chance to do all that I failed to achieve in O-Week in first year. There was very little orientation that was actually accomplished during this week. In fact, not much was achieved at all apart from the further damage inflicted upon my liver. Amen for liver regeneration.

Lowlights of the week: fire drill at 7.45am (an absolutely ungodly time to be awake), a “fire and safety” session which went for probably the most boring 90 minutes of my life and having to queue for an inappropriate amount of time to receive my student card (on the upside, it is a stellar photo).

Highlights of the week: foam party at the local student bar (although the consequences for the Y-3’s and Nudie’s were fairly distressing) and the Freshers’ Ball, which was a blast (although I was probably the oldest, but definitely not the seediest, person to go to) – cheap alcohol and free theme park rides are always a good combination and not at all an inducement to vomit.

And then class began… Yawn.
